newborn session

I’ll guide you through the entire process

A newborn session beautifully captures the essence of your little one’s first days. Typically lasting 1.5 to 2 hours, these sessions are best scheduled in the morning to ensure a calm atmosphere. We’ll create a relaxed environment, allowing your baby to lead the way. With soft, natural light and an emphasis on candid moments, I focus on genuine interactions rather than posed perfection. Whether it’s cozy swaddles, intimate breastfeeding shots, or playful expressions, each image tells the unique story of you

NEWBORN SESSION PLANNING GUIDE

Session Duration:

Plan for 1.5 to 2 hours.

Timing:
  • Morning sessions are ideal for calmness.
  • Ensure the baby is fed and has a clean diaper prior to the session.
  • If you want breastfeeding shots, we can adjust the timing accordingly.

Preparation Checklist:
  • Swaddles: Please have 1-2 swaddles ready.
  • Outfit:Choose 1 outfit for the session, along with matching accessories. Flow dresses are great for moms, especially those that are easy to nurse in.
  • Color Palette:Light earth tones are recommended for a soft, natural look. Minimal effort is key—comfort is essential!
  • Natural Shots: We’ll also take photos without any clothes for a more organic feel.

Essential Oils:
  • Consider bringing calming essential oils to help soothe your baby during the session.
  • I usually always have some on hand!

Collaborative Shot List:
  • Before the session, we’ll discuss and create a list of specific shots you’d like to capture.
  • Feel free to share any ideas or inspiration you have!

Session Flow:
  • This is a baby-led session. We’ll follow your baby’s cues and needs throughout the shoot.
  • The goal is to create a relaxed atmosphere where your baby feels comfortable.

Cleaning Expectations:
  • There’s no need to stress about cleaning your home—just focus on enjoying the moment!

Timing for Sessions:
  • Sessions can be held anytime from 1 week to 3 months. The first 2 weeks are ideal for that sleepy baby look. However, the longer you wait, the more expressive your baby will become, leading to some adorable silly faces in photos!

Additional Tips:
  • Keep the room warm to ensure the baby stays cozy.
  • Have any necessary items (bottles, pacifiers, etc.) within reach to keep your baby calm.
  • Relax and enjoy the moment—we’ll capture the beauty as it unfolds!
