This is my tension. This is my teeter.

The daily pull of living in the already, but not yet.

Some days, the ache in this in-between space runs so deep, words don’t feel like enough. But again and again, God meets me with His simple, steady truths.

So here are just simple words offered from a place of longing,

words that try to hold the weight of what can’t always be explained.

Fear to be known. Fear to be unseen

In fear, the whisper grows faint.

But the call never stops.

Fear of love. Fear to be loved.

Fear withholds connection from the one who longs to be whole.

But love never lets go.

Fear to be entangled. Fear to be free.

Fear leads astray the one who longs for home.

But redemption knows no limit.

Fear to die. Fear to live.

Fear whispers lies to the one who longs to know.

But the truth remains.

In the space between what is and what’s to come—
we walk amongst fear.
But even here, Emmanuel walks with us.
And where He is, hope remains.

Hope to be chosen. Hope to be seen.

In hope, we are called by name.

Hope lifts our eyes to the One who sees.

Hope to know love. Hope to be fully loved.

Hope seals our hearts to the One who calls us Beloved.

Hope fills our hearts with the One who is Love.

Hope to let go. Hope to belong.

Hope gives the courage to surrender.

In hope, we are restored.

Hope gives us a shelter we can truly call home.

Hope for abundance. Hope for joy.

Hope gives meaning to our tears.

In hope, we live out an everlasting promise.

Hope sets our hearts on eternity.

In the space between what is and what’s to come—
the darkness is overcome by the faintest light.
